11A Idea Napkin #1

1     I am a motivated foodie who is sick and tired of people accepting subpar food as the norm. That comes in every situation, but mainly at sporting event/concerts. I have always wanted to open this business not just for me but for my brother as well. He has Asperger’s Syndrome and I always wanted to do this business with him as a way for us to continue to be close as we get older.

2.      I want to offer my customers high-quality comfort food to at a price that won’t break the bank. I also want this to become a go-to spot for those wanting some good food after a night partying, a great concert, or a huge upset in the Swamp.

3.      I will be offering this to the college kids and fans that attend local concerts and sports events in and around the Gainesville area. The target customer for my food truck will probably be the 18-30 age group. This group is both very adventurous when it comes to trying new things but also are looking for options that will be more cost-effective. In this group, you can find a wide range of people from the college student looking to have a good meal besides eating at the dining hall to the young parents looking to feed their family on an affordable yet yummy option that the who family will enjoy.

4.      Compared to the products they can get at the stadium that are extremely overpriced or not as fresh as it could be, I feel my options that will be provided from my truck will be a vastly better deal both from a price standpoint but also from a quality standpoint. The value that they will receive from my truck will cause them to choose my truck rather than the competition.

5.      Our recipes will come straight from our mothers’ recipes. These recipes have been passed down for generations and I know that these recipes will be a huge hit in the community. Also, since my brother and I are college students that are currently trying to make it in this world. The amount of support we can garner from the local community to support us as we pursue our dreams could be a huge marketing move for us that could generate profits down the line.


I think based on the 5 elements that I’ve discussed in the above section of this post. I feel that these elements seem to mesh together very well. They complement each other in a way that could evolve into a very profitable business for not only my life but the lives of my family. If there was one element that I feel could be weaker than the rest it would be element 5 (what makes us different than the competition?). There could be a stronger competency out there that I am not able to recognize at this juncture but hopefully I’ll be able to find it by the time this process is completed.

As I look back on this past semester in ENT 3003 I can only imagine what it would be like if I had chosen not to take this class during drop/add. I have learned so much not only from a business perspective but on creative thinking and perseverance even when things were to become difficult. 9A Testing Hypothesis Part 2

The interviews: As a continuation to the first part of my opportunity, I conducted 5 more interviews of students, fans, and other members of the community to gain a better understanding of the lack of affordable food options at major events around Gainesville. Some interesting findings that I noticed throughout the interview process are that this issue seems to mainly affect students and people who don’t necessarily have an endless amount of free income. Students obviously have a lot of educational expenses with tuition, room and board, books, etc. So, they don’t necessarily have the ability to spend $10-$15 on two small items from concession stands at sports games or food trucks at concerts. 15A Figuring Out Buyer Behavior #2

        Summary of Interviews Based on the three interviews that I’ve obtained for this assignment there are definitely some clear elements to products in this space that are huge determining factors when it comes to buyer behavior. One of the common threads that were brought up numerous times throughout the interviews was the quality of the food is better than that of the vendor options offered inside the stadiums. They told me some of their horror stories of how terrible their experience was with some of the concession stands that they’ve experienced while attending sporting events. They’ve seen food under heat lamps while they stood in lines for about twenty minutes.
