22A Elevator Pitch #3

The majority of the feedback that I have gotten throughout the multiple pitches I've given since I've taken this course has been very positive. The main things people have pointed out was esthetic things like lighting in the room where feedback that I immediately incorporated into my most recent elevator pitch. As I continue to perform this pitch I feel like I have finally begun to memorize my minute-long pitch enough that I can do it all in one or two tries. I also feel that the more I have done the pitch the easier it is for me to do it on camera. The more comfortable I am the more polished my pitch becomes.

21A Reading Reflection #2

Reading Reflection on " How to fail at almost everything and still win big" by Scott Adams 1) What was the general theme or argument of the book? The main argument/general theme of this book is the fact that you can’t let failure define you. Sometimes taking that leap of faith is just a necessary step in order for you to “win it big”. Success has a price and if you want it you have to pay for it in the effort you put into it. 2) How did the book, in your opinion, connect with and enhance what you are learning in ENT 3003? The book was very inspiring as someone who may end up being an entrepreneur when its all said and done. Scott Adams is considered the Working Man’s Hero, he had been working in corporate America for 16 years and eventually escaped the corporate rat race and went on an to create the Dilbert comic strip. 3) If you had to design an exercise for this class, based on the book you read, what would that exercise involve? One aspect of the book that Adams ...

20A Growing Your Social Capital

1.) Daniel Shemtob is the owner an operator of one of the most popular food trucks in the country. His truck named The Lime Truck has been documented numerous time on the Food network and other food-related channels on a national scale. His expertise in the business of running a very successful food truck is definitely something to admire. His style of cuisine is also something I would like to emulate because they try to stick to fresh, organic, and classic foods that everyone can enjoy. The experience that he has with both the business side and the culinary side of this business would definitely help me continue to pursue this goal to open this truck. His expertise is the most value to my own social capital. 2.) Sen Khiev is the Owner and operator of Gainesville’s own Cilantro Taco food truck. His expertise of the Gainesville food scene and market could be very beneficial to my me as an up and coming food truck in the area. I emailed him asking for advice when it comes to starti...

19A Idea Napkin #2

1.) I bring a lot of experience in the food and restaurant industry particularly from a delivery and compact spaces realm. I feel this experience will translate well to a food truck environment because I will be able to thrive in this unique restaurant type. I also feel like my organizational skills and creativity allow me the opportunity to keep the business in check while still being able to try new innovative ideas with both the food program as well as future marketing endeavors. 2.) I will be providing customers with a high-quality food product at a very reasonable cost at events such as UF sporting events and at music festivals/concerts. 3.) The target demographic for this product are individuals that are looking for a high-quality food product that won’t affect their bank accounts too much. I see these customers being a mixture of college students to parents with children that both in a situation that doesn’t allow them to spend a large amount of money. Both situations have...

18A Create a Customer Avatar

Image
In my vision of my customer avatar, my avatar would be a 20-year-old college student who knows enough about food to understand that there are better options out there than the low-quality options offered from stadium vendors or fast food restaurants. He is a very devoted sports fan and goes to games religiously whenever he isn’t working trying to put himself through school. Which is another reason why he would be a frequent customer of my establishment? He doesn’t have the availability to spend a bunch of money on expensive stadium food whenever he goes to games. It sucks that he either has to preplan his meals around the events that he’s attending or hoping he doesn’t starve as he waits until after the event to finish before he is able to go get food. My avatar as doesn’t have a lot of friends, so it doesn’t give him a lot of options to make the expensive stadium food any cheaper. Besides going to sporting events my avatar is very active in his community and likes to support local bu...

17A Elevator Pitch #2

The majority of the feedback that I received from my first elevator pitch to my current elevator pitch was mainly focused on esthetic things like bad lighting in my video. I tried the best I could to adjust that to make it a little better but given my current housing situation and video quality of my laptop. I tried to fix those issues the best I could. Hopefully, this one continues to improve on the one I published last time.

15A Figuring Out Buyer Behavior #2

Summary of Interviews Based on the three interviews that I’ve obtained for this assignment there are definitely some clear elements to products in this space that are huge determining factors when it comes to buyer behavior. One of the common threads that were brought up numerous times throughout the interviews was the quality of the food is better than that of the vendor options offered inside the stadiums. They told me some of their horror stories of how terrible their experience was with some of the concession stands that they’ve experienced while attending sporting events. They’ve seen food under heat lamps while they stood in lines for about twenty minutes. I don’t know about them, but I would not have stood in line any longer if I had seen these food practices at a vendor I was literally minutes away from buying from. Another element that seemed to play a major role in the buying process for these interviewees was the overall cost and affordabili...
